I am a PhD fellow at the Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University. My PhD project is entitled “The role of Renewable Energies (RE) in electrification expansion through Sub-Saharan Africa: The case study of Tanzania” or shortly “RE-electrify Tanzania”. I think that fossil fuels is ruining our planet (on different scales – environment, economic, ethics, values …etc.) and it may not maintain our energy security on the long run. I do believe that we need to reduce our dependency on fossil fuel, it is time to shift from “Reserves” to “Resources”. Hence my personal career vision is to “advance sustainable energy solutions for humanity”.
I have professional/academic experience in electrical and energy engineering (started with built-environment consultancies working on projects spanning England, UAE, KSA, Egypt, Russia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Ghana, and then followed by research centres and companies in Germany focusing on renewable energy technologies). I hold MSc degree in Energy Engineering from TU-Berlin, Germany. I conducted my MSc thesis -entitled “Optimized Integration of Renewable Energy Technologies into Egypt’s Power Plant Portfolio”- in the Systems Analysis & Technology Assessment Department of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR).
