Ines Omann is currently a senior researcher at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Resarch in Leipzig. From 2004 to 2014 she was head of the research group “Sustainable Quality of Life and Integrated Strategies” at SERI in Vienna. Her research focuses on participatory approaches and action research, transition to sustainable development, quality of life, needs and capabilities and scenario development. She has been involved in several EU projects in the areas of transition, scenario development, and policy analysis. Ines Omann studied Environmental Systems Sciences and Economics at the Univiersities of Graz and Lund (Sweden) and did her PhD in Ecological Economics at the Universities of Graz and of Leeds (UK). She is also working as facilitator and moderator in transition processes and thereby linking research, society and policy.
