Last week, the steering group elected Katharina Schiller (Fraunhofer ISI, Karlsruhe) as a new member of the STRN Board.
Katharina is an agricultural scientist with a focus on agri-food sustainability transitions, particularly in the Global South. Her current work focuses on just transitions, citizen involvement and capacities for social innovations, and policies for transitions. She has been participating at IST conferences since 2017, was a co-organizer of the NEST conference in 2018 and the lead organizer of the 2021 IST conference. She is very active in the STRN thematic groups ‘Transitions in the Global South’ and ‘Agri-food Transitions’. She has been a member of the STRN steering group since 2020.
Her goals for her work on the STRN Board include strengthening STRN’s engagement with other relevant networks, supporting institutional changes within STRN, and broadening STRN’s outreach to and engagement with new geographic areas, themes and methods.
